Tri-state water wars continue
Water wars continue to rage in Alabama, Florida, Georgia
Florida and Alabama officials are squaring off with Georgia officials in court over the allocation of water from Lake Lanier, metro Atlanta's water source.
The war has raged on for nearly 20 years. Both Florida and Alabama are downstream from the lake and would like to see the amount of water released from the lake's hydroelectric dam incrased. At issue is how much water the metro Atlanta area needs.
While the drought has abated somewhat, this issue will continue to be big news until the lawsuit settles.
