GEORGIA: Ted Turner partners with Southern Co. on renewable energy projects

The billionaire entrepreneur and Atlanta-based utility are partnering to pursue renewable energy projects in the United States, with the initial focus on developing and investing in large-scale solar photovoltaic projects in the Southwest. Their goal: to further commercialize the technology and make it more cost competitive.

Turner, the largest individual landowner in North America with more than two million acres, said, “I’ve always been passionate about developing renewable energy. Southern Co.’s experience in power project development, construction … operations and customer relations help make this a strong alliance.”

Let's hope the efforts will translate to the South.
